My video (at least the first part) is now on Vimeo!!! I just have to upload the last two parts and then the publishing of my video will be completed by tomorrow..... or the day after that.....HOPEFULLY. Apparentally, if you have your video on a "mobile device" you have to email it so that it can be uploaded to vimeo. And also APPARENTALLY, that email is CONSTANTLY changing, which makes it really hard to upload to Vimeo from my phone, but I'll manage. I think maybe it makes it harder with the fact that I made my PSA video on Splice (an iphone app to create and edit videos), but I'm somewhat glad that I did because it was way easier to fit in a long quote, even though the only background color was black, and even though the background never changed for the words, I'd say it came out pretty good!!!

Update on my progress........

I haven't gotten the email from Vimeo that tells me that my videos have been published, so I'm just waiting on that, but I think I might just try emailing them a third time.......whatever works..........

Reflection for Today

So firstly today we took a quiz on the IB Learner profile, which I am very proud of myself on because I was able to score a 100% on. I was so happy! Anyways, the only thing I'm having trouble with is publishing my video to Vimeo, considering that I made my PSA video on my phone, so I actually had to email it to Vimeo so that it could get it published. Yesterday I was able to do it, but it came out wrong because I accidentally emailed the wrong version, but afterwards I just deleted my account so that the videos would be off the site, and then I made another account. Then I emailed my videos all over again, and now I'm just waiting for my email from Vimeo that verifies that I have actually published my video.
Well that is besides the point. Anyways I want to rate myself a 6 in all the categories except create considering that I wasn't able to publish, but I hope it will be published by the end of today.......Hopefully:)

So Far so Good.......

Yesterday I was trying to figure out how to work on my iMovie outside of class. The only substitution I got was an app called Splice. I really liked it because it is so easy to use and its almost exactly like iMovie! I just don't know if I can turn in my movie yet because yesterday I finished it and it was exactly two minutes long. I'm not sure about turning it in though because I didn't use iMovie......

Reflection for Today

Today I did really good. I made more slides and I put in some quotes. I rate myself a 6 in create and evaluate and attitudes in technology. I was very positive and I feel so good about having been able to complete so much. I wish I could work on iMovie from my house. I was a very good reflector when I reflected and evaluated my progress. I do want to become more knowledgeable in iMovie though....

What I Accomplished Today

We have began working on our iMovie, and I think I am actually progressing really well! At first I thought it would be complicated, but after I started, it got easier. I have started by putting in things like the title and the first few slides like What is Digital Commerce and the picture of the digital commerce cycle. I also was able to make the e commerce picture with the e in the basket look a little creepy by adding some sepia color so that the sentence "There are dangers that we don't realize" has more of an impact.

Reflection

Today I took another one of those quizzes on quia on the Design Cycle. I was very disappointed  in myself. The first time I did this test I got a sixty. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that there was a little error in the test, because the last time I took it I put most of the answers the same and I got a 95. In the end I was proud, but I still wished that maybe I had tried hard and gotten a 100.

On the project so far, I feel like I'm on track. I am doing all my work in class (trying my best to not be distracted by Fernie..... Just kidding Fernie!!!) I feel so elated when I saw that I had more tan 3,000 words on my google doc!!! So for now I'm just gonna fix anything I need on my google doc.

What I've Been Up To

            I am working on my PSA video for technology class. Mainly I have been working on the google doc so that next quarter I can begin creating my video. Our google doc is basicaly supposed to be composed of all the parts of the design cycle, kind of like a journal of the process we've been doing. I have finished all of the steps up to create, and after create I will go on to evaluate where I am supposed to think and reflect on how productive I was in each of the steps in the design cycle, and how I could improve my product or my process in creating my product the next time I create a product.
            I think so far I've done really good keeping up with all of my work, but I'm still working on my google doc. I will be updating my blog during the process in which I begin creating the video, so that'll be something to look forward to. I would leave screen shots of my google doc so far, but I'm posting from my acer laptop, so I'm not entirely sure how to do that yet, but I'll put up scree shots as soon as I figure out how to do that.

Business-to-consumer e-commerce can provide customers with convenience and access to a wide range of goods and services, while allowing businesses to reach large or unique markets.

Components of business-to-consumer e-commerce include security measures, "shopping carts," payment options, and marketing.

The electronic shopping cart is a popular feature that allows consumers simply to click on a button to select one or more products for purchase. When the customer has finished shopping, the cart system allows the consumer to "check out."

Various payment options exist to facilitate business-to-consumer e-commerce. These include digital or electronic cash, electronic wallets, and micropayments.

Because e-commerce allows businesses to reach a worldwide market and to compete around the globe, creative marketing and promotion of a web site is crucial to the success of an Internet-based business. This must be balanced with sound business practices, however.

The Internet has changed the nature and structure of competition. In the past, most businesses had to compete within a single industry (such as groceries) and often within a specific geographic area, but the Internet is blurring those boundaries.

An important difference between traditional business and e-commerce is the elimination of the middleman, known as disintermediation .

Reflection on my Digital Service Announcement

                   For my digital service announcement I created a brochure on digital commerce to help others understand that even though buying and seling online seems safe, digital commerce still poses many dangers.
                   I think in the end my brochure turned out really well because it had a lot of information, and it was really focused on the main points and it didnt really stray off topic. I think that even though it was good, I should have been more productive. During thansgiving I had no internet connectin whatsoever, and when my parents finally got me a modem for Black Friday it took us 5 hours to set it up! When I finally did get internet though, the only problem I had was that I didnt have a poster! So I decided to do a powerpoint on google docs but I didn't think that it would be acceptable because it was a powerpoint so I created a brochure just in case. Then yesterday I saw in my e-mail that googe docs was unable to e-mail my powerpoint, so  I was glad that I was able to check the blog and make sure that my product for this PSA would be acceptable.

Public Service Announcement Topic

For my public service announcement I will do the topic of Digital Commerce so that others can be more aware of the policies and restrictions that are put in place that do or dont allow us to download content off the internet.

1. America Offline-What does this mean? It means that lots of people all over America do not have access to Internet which is unfair because Internet access means more jobs and opportunities for everyone.
2. Digital divide- How does this impact you as a students? In our modern world it is essential to be able to have good Internet access because we need to be able to communicate with those investors from China and all those places. Or if we decide to go into medicine we would probably want to communicate with people from all over the world in order to find a cure to cancer.
3. Unequal Access-How can lack of access to the Internet impact your future? A lack of Internet access could mean that my grades would lower dramatically because I need to access the Internet to do research for papers and projects that I have and also it wold mean one less way to communicate with teachers and friends.

4. Innovators-How will lack of digital access impact us as a country? This lack of access means that jobs could go down, lots of people work or study from home through the Internet and without access there wouldn't be as many educational and career opportunities. Many lawyers and senators and representatives can only communicate through the computer so without Internet all of these things become impossible.
5. What are the options for better Access? I guess the only way is to present it to the city as a problem and see if the funds are available to help get the Internet access improved.

7. What could be done to increase Internet access and create more choices for communities nationwide? Communities need to come together to raise the funds to have an opportunity to have their Internet upgraded. Maybe at least to see what Japan is doing to be able to provide faster Internet access at a lower price. 
8. What actions need to be taken to keep the Internet open for users and innovators? We need to be able to see how other countries are doing it and be able to follow in there example.

Every morning individuals can be sure to here about the weather, sports, and of course celebrity drama. Celebrity drama is so common and normal to everyone that hearing about it everyday has become so normal, so routine. The question is, why is it always celebrity bad behavior? What about celebrities’ good behavior? Celebrities’ bad behavior is covered more in news stories than their good behavior because it causes controversy, affects many individuals, and causes social disruption.
            The first reason why celebrities’ bad behavior is more covered by news stories than their good behavior is because it causes controversy.
